While growing to adulthood, we go through a number of developmental stages. Healing our inner child involves going back through these developmental stages and finishing our unfinished business. This process helps us recognize and connect to the frozen feelings of the past and teaches us to champion and nurture our inner child. The result is that old wounds are healed and many of us experience a new freedom, sense a new power and creative force in our lives, and we come to know a stronger spiritual connectedness than ever before. The workshop will help participants identify core issues and original pain that continue to manifest in unhealthy relationship patterns, unfulfilled career aspirations, addiction and codependency issues, depression/anxiety, physical symptoms, and more. If you’ve never experienced the healing power of inner child work, please join us for this special workshop. The initial weekend workshop will be followed by seven weekly group sessions. Participants are required to commit to the entire workshop series. Are you continually frustrated when you try to talk about problems with no result? • Communication Skills: There are essentially two components to communication skills – listening and expressing your feelings. Listening well can sometimes be a very courageous act. To be available to listen and truly hear what concerns your partner means putting aside all your spontaneous reactions to it. Utilizing Imago and other therapeutic techniques, participants will learn to: effectively listen to your partner; recognize the feelings your partner is experiencing; identify your own feelings; hear your partner’s reality and respond to it appropriately; gain a better understanding of your past and not react as quickly to your partner. Your family of origin has a tremendous impact on your life, especially relationships. This work involves understanding family messages, values, communication styles, traditions, and ways of dealing with feelings. This can help participants to: break free from the past; detect generational issues and deal with them; detect and deal with the roots of bitterness/resentment; improve extended family relationships. This workshop consists of four weekly two-hour sessions. All couples are required to commit to the entire workshop series. Group Facilitator: Abbe Barclay, MSW Abbe Barclay is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has over 20 years of experience in counseling couples. Watch for more information... |
